Our Veterinarians
Dr. David P. Hadland DVM
David P. Hadland, D.V.M., is a native of Huntington, New York. He completed his
undergraduate study at Cornell University, his veterinary medicinal degree at
the University Of Parma, Italy; and obtained advanced clinical and surgical
training at the University of Missouri. Dr. David P. Hadland trained in avian
medicine with Dr. Giorgio Bussachi, of Bologna, at Zoo Norte and was
instrumental in the vaccination and rescue of thousand of parrots during his
work with Dr. Bussachi.
In 1985, Dr. Hadland opened the Animal Hospital of East Islip, now known as the East Islip Veterinary Group. In 1994, Dr. David P. Hadland moved to Hampton Bays, and opened his second veterinary practice, the Shinnecock Animal Hospital.
Dr. Hadland is an excellent practitioner and diagnostician; he received post graduate certification in Veterinary Medical Management through Perdue University. He lives with his wife, son, two rescue cats and a Southampton Town Animal Shelter rescue dog. His is an avid surfer and audiophile.
Dr. Teresa G. Meekins DVM
Dr. Teresa G. Meekins has been a member of our veterinary team since February of
2000. She received her DVM degree from Ross University in 1999, upon completion
of her clinical year at Oklahoma State. Her undergraduate degree in Biology, was
received from LIU Southampton in 1995. She is extremely passionate about shelter
animals and spends a lot of her free time at the Southampton Animal
Shelter Foundation, walking and socializing the long term residents. She also devotes a lot
of her time trapping stray and feral cats for spay/neuter release programs. She
lives in Hampton Bays with a multitude of her own animals, enjoys Horseback
riding, the beach, and is an avid NY Islanders hockey fan.
Dr. Justin Molnar DVM, AVDS
Dr. Molnar received his DVM upon completion of his clinical year at Michigan
State University's Teaching Hospital. During his clinical and academic
veterinary career he has been nationally recognized by Pfizer, The American
Animal Hospital Association, and the Glassen Foundation alike for outstanding
achievement and excellence in the disciplines of anesthesiology, small animal
internal medicine, surgery, and pharmacology. Since joining the staff at
Shinnecock Animal Hospital he has pursued interests in client education, and
veterinary dentistry. He has become a recognized member of the American
Veterinary Dental Society and has introduced the use of intra-oral digital
dental radiography and oral surgery techniques to the practice. Currently he is
studying Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (herbal medicine and
acupuncture) under the guidance of the renowned Huisheng Xie DVM, Phd, MS.
Outside of work his heart lies with his wife Amy and their two beautiful sons
Brendyn and Conner.
